Mayor-elect Dr. Danny Avula Announces Mayoral Transition Team Leadership

Richmond, VA — Dr. Danny Avula, Mayor-elect of the City of Richmond, today announced his Mayoral Transition Team leadership.

Reginald “Reggie” Gordon (Richmond Memorial Health Foundation) and Katherine Whitney (Warren Whitney) will serve as Co-chairs of the transition. Dr. Thad Williamson (University of Richmond) will serve as Director of the transition team.

Additionally, Sarah Carpenter, J.D., Taikein Cooper (Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation), Ruth Morrison (Richmond & Henrico Health District), and Lawson Wijesooriya will serve on the Transition Executive Committee.

“I am grateful to these talented and experienced Richmonders for their willingness to lend their time and energy to leading this transition process. We now start the work of building a Richmond where everyone’s rights are protected and where no one gets left behind. I appreciate Mayor Stoney and his administration’s cooperation in ensuring a smooth transition over the next two months,” said Danny.
