Today, Dr. Danny Avula’s campaign received two more official endorsements from labor unions, adding to his ever-growing list of endorsements in the mayor’s race. At this point in the race, Dr. Avula has been endorsed by more labor unions than any other candidate. In concert with their fundraising totals for September, the campaign is very well-positioned for the last few weeks before Election Day.
The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 666 proudly join other labor unions in endorsing Dr. Avula for mayor of Richmond. These add to the list of RCOP, IAFF Local 995, and LiUNA, all of whom have endorsed Dr. Avula in the last several weeks after interviewing all of the candidates. These groups represent local Richmond working people who, after thorough review, decided Dr. Avula is the best choice for mayor.
Dr. Avula accepted these endorsements with gratitude, saying “I believe my job as mayor will be to ensure that Richmond residents benefit from every project the city takes on. I am grateful to all the local workers who build our city and who work hard to keep us safe. I am honored to have the support of hard-working people who make our city great.”
